Palmoil.io Newsletter - October 2025
What’s new?
New jurisdictions!
This week, Palmoil.io is adding 13 new countries to our Jurisdictional dashboard. We are adding Brazil, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Colombia, Peru, Cameroon, Thailand, Liberia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, and Gabon.
We are particularly excited to have Thailand in Palmoil.io. The country is one of the world's largest producers of palm oil and a critical supplier to domestic, regional, and international companies. Compared to Indonesia and Thailand, Thailand is considered relatively low risk for deforestation, however, most production is by smallholders, so very low volumes are traceable. Palmoil.io's jurisdictional dashboards therefore provide objective and regularly updated DCF and NDPE analytics and maps for all of Thailand's jurisdictions. This will support palm buyers screening mills for high risk/high volume jurisdictions.
The new dashboards will be live this Friday, so please check them out!
Landscapes now in Palmoil.io
Staying on the subject of jurisdictions, we have also added dashboards for some of the most critically important landscapes in Indonesia. This enables landscape stakeholders to efficiently monitor impacts directly inside or bordering landscapes, find and view our risk insights, and track annual and monthly forest cover and deforestation rates, peat loss, GHG emissions, as well as track grievances and buyers sourcing from surrounding mills.
What's coming up?
Making Palmoil.io more accessible
One of the challenges of being a software company is balancing access and price. We have done our best to offer Palmoil.io at a range of price points and are proud to count some of the largest palm oil producers along with small mission driven NGOs as our customers. This has allowed us to not only sustain the Palmoil.io platform but keep it regularly updated and continuously add new features.
However, the current state of palm oil monitoring requires more accessibility and transparency. There is a now a proliferation of deforestation monitoring methodologies, diverging perspectives on DCF calculations and EUDR compliance, and grievance tracking. Most of this work exists behind paywalls like ours, which limits both transparency of methods and access to many stakeholders. We want to change this.
Next week, we will write a post announcing our proposed changes to Palmoil.io accessibility. We are pretty excited about it, so stay tuned to hear about a new way to start monitoring your palm oil chain with us.
What’s coming up?
Palmoil.io is Heading to RSPO RT2025!
We’re thrilled to announce that Palmoil.io will once again be part of the RSPO Annual Roundtable Conference on Sustainable Palm Oil (RT2025), happening 3–5 November 2025 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. With this year’s theme, “Building the Next 20: Sustainability in Action,” the event promises to spark important conversations and drive innovation across the palm oil industry.

We’re also excited to launch our new Free Tier subscription during the event where you can sign up right at our booth!
If you’ll be attending, be sure to stop by, meet our team, and see what’s next for Palmoil.io. See you at RT2025 in Kuala Lumpur!
Meet the Team
Naufal, GIS Analyst
With a degree in Geography and a passion for geospatial technology, environmental management, and sustainable development, Naufal has been immersed in the world of GIS since graduating from university. His career path took a turn toward the palm oil sector about two years ago, when he joined Wilmar as a GIS Analyst. That experience gave him a deep look into the industry and today, he brings that knowledge and expertise to his work at MapHubs.
One of the most exciting aspects of Naufal’s role is helping clients analyze their palm oil supply chains for deforestation risks. What Naufal enjoys most, though, is the daily challenge of interpreting satellite imagery to observe ground conditions. “Every area has different characteristics,” he explains. “I’m always learning something new, and it enriches my knowledge especially in the palm oil industry.”
Outside of work, Naufal channels his energy into combat sports, particularly Muay Thai. While some people might find combat sports intense, he describes the gym as the place where he feels most at peace.
Tip of the month
Plot Check Pro: DCF Report
Find NDPE & DCF Reports for your plot or landscape boundary in Plot Check Pro!
We know you’re already familiar with Palmoil.io’s Plot Check Pro tool, you might even use it regularly! But here’s a quick refresher for anyone who needs one. Just like the EUDR Risk Reports, you can now find NDPE and DCF reports in Plot Check Pro too. Simply upload your plot or landscape boundary in Plot Check Pro, and you’ll instantly receive a Deforestation, Conversion, and Peat (DCF) Report. The report assesses whether your area complies with NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) standards, provides a detailed DCF percentage, and a map of DCF and non-DCF areas. We hope this helps you continue to stay transparent and sustainable!
