We took a break in August, so this newsletter is a bumper two month addition! Lots to report. We are so excited for the good things coming up, so here’s the latest from Palmoil.io. Ever wonder how all the data on Palmoil.io would look like put together into one single dashboard? Well, wonder no more! We’ve launched our Palmoil.io Global Dashboard for you to see just that. Let’s dive into it, shall we? Upon clicking the brand new “Global” tab on our homepage, you’ll see our entire database in one dashboard. Global Dashboard lists all companies, news stories, risk insights, grievances, and our supply chain data. The Dashboard features overall statistics such as the average area of forest alerts in proximity to mills and within plots. The dashboard gives subscribers an unparalleled overview of the industry's progress towards social and environmental goals.

Locate easily with Palmoil.io’s Map Coordinate Tool

As a company that’s basically all about maps, we are always looking for ways to improve your time in Palmoil.io. Our latest map coordinate tool can only help you level up your search. When you come across any of our maps in Palmoil.io, take a look on the right-side and find the location icon. Click to open the coordinate tool and enter a latitude and longitude to move the map to that location and voila! You’ll be directed to wherever you want to go.

Papua New Guinea Plots are here!

We’ve got an amazing new addition - Papua New Guinea (PNG) plots. We have integrated 165 industrial-sized plots in PNG to nearly 10,00o plots covering Indonesia, Malaysia, and Latin America. As the world's 7th largest producer, PNG's palm oil production has become an important economic activity, particularly for smallholder farmers, who contribute a significant percentage of volume. However, allegations have been made about palm-related deforestation, human rights violations, and biodiversity loss. To aid PNG monitoring efforts, Palmoil.io now analyzes plot-level deforestation and then traces cases to global supply chains. If you source from PNG, now would be a great time to subscribe.

What’s coming up?

Palmoil.io goes to IPOC & RSPO 2023

We are excited to be attending the 19th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference & Price Outlook (IPOC) in Bali, November 1-3. The conference is an annual forum for palm oil industry stakeholders, organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (better known as GAPKI--Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia). It serves as a platform for industry players to gather knowledge, exchange ideas, and network with peers. It plays a vital role in keeping stakeholders informed about the state of the palm oil industry in Indonesia and emerging issues such as the upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation. At our booth, we will be demonstrating to attendees how Palmoil.io provides the simplest and most affordable platform for monitoring deforestation and other risks. Come by and say 'hi'!

Not only that, the good news keeps on coming. We are also exhibiting to RSPO RT2023 in Jakarta from November 20-23 For those who have met up with us at last year’s RSPO in Kuala Lumpur, we hope to see you again along with new friends we anticipate to meet. The theme of RT2023 is “Partners for the Next 20”, signals a commitment to collaboration and action to address the core challenges facing the sustainable palm oil industry with a long-term perspective. It reflects the industry's recognition of the need for concerted efforts to achieve sustainability and a more responsible palm oil sector in the years to come. We will releasing a couple of new features during RT2023, so be sure to come by our booth to check them out.

Risk Insight Charts

To help you navigate Palmoil.io's extensive data, we've added summary on the Risk Insights dashboard and on the company dashboard under the “Risk Insight” tab. It includes charts of report types of mills proximity and plots, of findings (e.g Industrial Plantation, Industrial Logging, etc) and whether the insight deforestation documented is a compliance risk with the EU Deforestation Regulation.
