Procurement Is Power: How Subnational Actors Can Fight Deforestation

We’re excited to share that our CEO and Founder, Leo Bottrill, will be participating in the upcoming event “Procurement Is Power: How Subnational Actors Can Fight Deforestation” during New York City Climate Week. Organized by WWF, National Wildlife Federation, and Environmental Advocates NY, this important session will explore how state procurement can be a powerful tool in reversing forest loss, promoting fair competition, and supporting legal trade. The event is on Friday, September 26th from 10-11:30am and should be a lively discussion. If you’d like to join, please register here. Space is limited, so we encourage you to sign up early. You’re also welcome to reach out to Leo directly with any questions.

New Countries in Jurisdictional Landscape Dashboard

We’ve added to our Jurisdictional Landscape Dashboard to cover more regions around the globe. In addition to Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, you can now explore data from Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Guatemala. This update allows subscribers to monitor protected areas and deforestation alerts across a broader range of countries, providing deeper visibility into potential risks. You’ll also be able to track mills, plots, grievances, and supply chains within these new jurisdictions, helping you stay ahead.

At our booth, we’ll be showcasing live demos, unveiling new and exciting features, and sharing how Palmoil.io continues to support you in monitoring your palm oil supply chain. Jurisdictional Landscape Dashboard: West Africa

As you know, we are always working to expand our Jurisdictional Landscape Dashboard. Palm oil is highly significant in West Africa for historical, economic, social, and environmental reasons, which is why we are planning to add Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone to the Dashboard. This addition represents an important step in broadening the Dashboard’s coverage, further strengthening Palmoil.io’s Jurisdictional Landscape Dashboard as a tool for monitoring, reporting, and jurisdictional engagement. The update will be available soon.
