POC 2024 Recap

Palmoil.io is fresh off the trip from POC 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and we had a great time at our booth chatting with you all! It was interesting hearing your perspectives on the upcoming EUDR and we appreciate your support in our innovations aimed at assisting with compliance. For those who visited us at the booth, we hope you saw firsthand how Palmoil.io can benefit you.

We heard many questions about the EU Deforestation Regulation and its potential impacts, particularly the plot traceability requirement. At the conference, Malaysian government officials stressed the importance of fair regulations that balance sustainability efforts and economic concerns. To alleviate some concerns, the EU has earmarked over 100 million euros to aid smallholder inclusion through mapping and other outreach programs.

Given the amount of time before the EUDR is enforced, Palmoil.io is dedicated to supporting you through the process and equipping you with the right tools for due diligence. We are developing new features to assist you and understand the challenges and provide you with the support and resources you need to navigate this evolving landscape with confidence. Plot Check Tool (Update)

Plot Check has a new look! It now supports checking a wider range of plots and can handle common data errors in Shapefiles and GeoJSON. For instance, it will skip plots with data problems and inform you about the number of skipped plots. Furthermore, it automatically converts data from local projections to WGS84 for importing. The tool's updated functionality will hopefully improve in handling errors, making it easier for subscribers to detect and resolve data issues. And we are just getting started. We have new Plot Check features in the pipeline, so get in touch with us if you would like a trial.

Feature Highlight Webinar - Mill List Upload

We will be back with another Feature Highlight Webinar on Tuesday, April 2nd 2024 and this time, we will be talking about Palmoil.io’s Mill List Upload. The process of checking supplier mills lists is crucial for companies looking to mitigate risks associated with their supply chain, particularly for companies who need to comply with the EUDR. By checking your mill lists for risks and identifying suppliers that may be engaging in unsustainable practices. This involves cross-referencing your supplier lists with data from Palmoil.io. Plot Check Tool (EUDR Help Center)

For those who are familiar Palmoil.io, it helps you analyze deforestation, overlapping areas, grievances, and traceability to private plot boundaries without the need to share your data directly. It works in three steps: 1) Ask your suppliers for data, 2) Use the Plot Check tool to analyze plots for various factors, and 3) Review plots back to the EUDR cutoff. The tool provides a dashboard with statistics and insights, available to Palmoil.io subscribers. Plot Check is currently available for Palmoil.io Enterprise, Business, and Producer subscribers. Risk Assessment Service (EUDR Help Center)

Palmoil.io’s Risk Assessment service focuses on evaluating risks at the plantation level, leveraging our advanced database for EUDR risk assessment. It involves identifying supply chain connections from mills to plantations using our estimated traceability model database across 13 countries, with more added this year. The service also includes an expanding database of deforestation reports and analyst reviews assessing EUDR risk, along with a global repository of grievances and news stories related to deforestation and legality risks.
